“Hey Russ, what were you thinking when you wrote this song?”
Well, it’s a collection of seemingly unconnected snapshots of divine intervention in Canada’s story. Here goes... Mohawk Indian Steeplejacks, who built the bridge over the east end of Lake St. Louis (which is the name of the ship of Jews seeking
safety in Canada during the war... which caused a huge kerfuffle in parliament so for the sake of Canadian unity we sent the Jews back to Europe and Hitler said, “See? No one wants them”, and he instituted the final solution)... those indians
had become Christians, suffered persecution and had taken refuge in the convent in Châteauguay, Québec... which is where a few of us went on a secret mission to pray for Canada... and nine months later there was a reconciliation meeting between French and English Christians... which is kind of like the situation we found in North Battleford, Saskatchewan where the First Peoples were more than persecuted: they were murdered there. ...fifty years later there was a massive returning to God that started there and spread around the globe... Upon our arrival, fifty years later, we saw, basically red and white sidewalks... We knew something was afoot when we did another secret prayer mission and a week later heard stories of another mass turning to God... this made me think of the verse that says the earth will be filled with the knowledge of God as the waters cover the sea... ...Makes sense to me...??...
